Keto-Friendly Korean Style Beef Bowl

Korea food is delicious. Unfortunately, most traditional Korean food isn’t keto. Rice is a staple for any Korean dish, and many Korean meat recipes use marinade that contains sugar.

However, it doesn’t mean that you can’t have keto recipes ground beef Korean food. In fact, this Korean style beef bowl is also very quick and easy to make. Have fun trying it at home!

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower Rice
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 lb cauliflower
    • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
  • Beef
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
    • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • Sauce
    • 1/4 cup coconut aminos
    • 1/4 cup beef broth
    • 2 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Garnish
    • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
    • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
    • 1 small cucumber, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  • Using a large wok, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook cauliflower rice.
  • Add sea salt and black pepper (optional).
  • Saute for about 5 minutes.
  • Set aside cauliflower rice.
  • For sauce: whisk together coconut amino, beef broth, sesame oil, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef for 10 minutes until browned. Add sea salt and stir occasionally.
  • Create a well in the beef.
  • Add minced garlic. Saute until fragrant. Combine with the beef.
  • Add sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for about 4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve beef with cauliflower rice. Add green onions, sesame seeds, and cucumber for garnish.
